The following journal is being written by the mother of 14 year old Gregory August Allyn Brown, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia in March 1999. After one month of chemotherapy, it was determined that Greg's form of leukemia was very aggressive, and he would not be likely to survive without a bone marrow transplant.  This journal tells of Greg's daily experiences with his treatments, donor search, transplant, and death.  It also tells about our tributes to him after his death, including launching part of his remains into space on a rocket, where he now orbits every 90 minutes, scattering some of his remains at sea by his marrow donor, spreading some of his ashes in the sky, and a final burial into the earth.  This journal's purpose was originally a way to update family and friends, so that no one needed to feel as if they were bothering us, or feel uncomfortable asking questions.  Now, this journal remains here, as a way to let other leukemia patients and their families, who might happen to stumble on this site, to have an account of what someone else is experiencing under similar circumstances. This journal is written in backwards order, with the beginning of the story at the end of the journal.  I will update it as conditions warrant, adding new information to the top of the page so that it will be easier to locate the latest entries. We welcome you to our web site, and hope that you will write us with any comments or suggestions.
